At 23, I was working as a paralegal in Seattle, following what felt like a predetermined path. I come from a long line of attorneys. Law is my family’s language. But despite the outward success, my body was breaking down. Chronic stress. Sleepless nights. Pain I couldn’t ignore. One day, I booked a massage.
It was a day that changed everything. Not only did it relieve my pain, but it sparked something deeper. I found myself asking the therapist questions, fascinated by how and why the body stores tension, and how healing could come through her touch.
A few months later, while flying to Boston to begin a paralegal program at Northeastern, I felt the stress return. Mid-flight, I had a realization: I wasn’t meant to be a paralegal. I was meant to heal.
That night, I researched massage therapy schools and soon enrolled in the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge. Two years later, I began a journey that would change my life – and the lives of my clients.

For the next 20 years, I worked for others, gaining experience, expanding my knowledge, and refining my approach. But the greatest inspiration came from my mother.
When she was diagnosed with cancer, I saw firsthand how illness can disconnect people from their bodies. Through her journey – and the extraordinary passion of her hospice nurses – I learned how powerful touch can be for those who are hurting, isolated, or afraid. She encouraged me to keep learning and reminded me that healing goes beyond muscles.
After she passed, my mission deepened: to create a space where people feel safe, seen, and supported.
When I worked for others, my calendar was booked with back-to-back-to-back-to-back appointments. If a client needed a few extra minutes of care, I had no extra time to provide it. It didn’t feel right or sit right with me. I wanted to offer my clients a different kind of experience. So, I started Balanced Touch.
Balanced Touch is more than a massage studio. It’s a healing space rooted in empathy, presence, and connection. Whether you’re carrying physical pain, emotional stress, hormonal imbalance, or simply seeking peace and relaxation, my goal is to help you feel grounded, cared for, and reconnected to your body.
Massage therapy gives my life purpose. It feeds my soul. And it brings me immense joy to help others feel better balanced in their own body.
After 20 years, I finally found the courage to open my own doors. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
